Homelessness Outreach Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Homelessness Outreach Support Worker to join our team at the Bradbury Centre. You will work directly with people who are rough sleeping, helping them move towards stable accommodation and improved wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outreach based on local intelligence and StreetLink alerts, covering early mornings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Act as a consistent point of contact and advocate with housing, healthcare, welfare and other services.
• Assess individual needs and develop personalised support plans.
• Provide psychologically informed, trauma‑informed and recovery‑focused support.
• Assist clients with health, budgeting, benefits and access to community services.
• Help people retain accommodation, prevent eviction and progress when ready.
• Maintain an active caseload and keep accurate, confidential records.
• Contribute to service evaluation and development.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build trust with people who have experienced trauma and multiple disadvantages.
• Resilient, calm under pressure and committed to respectful, person‑centred support.
• Experience engaging and motivating individuals with complex, diverse needs.
• Experience assessing needs and creating support plans.
• Knowledge of housing, health, homelessness services and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and conflict‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with local partner agencies.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work flexible hours.

Required skills

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a competitive salary of £28,135‑£30,635 per year.
