Hospital Chef – Full‑time (20 hrs/week) at Winfield Hospital

About the role

Based at Winfield Hospital on the outskirts of Gloucester, you will join the catering team to deliver high‑quality meals for patients, staff, consultants and visitors. The position works a flexible 7‑day shift pattern, providing 20 hours per week across the hospital’s kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve a variety of meals throughout the hospital.
• Maintain consistent service standards during the kitchen’s opening hours (07:00‑17:30, Mon‑Sun).
• Adhere to current food‑hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the catering team to meet daily demand.

Required profile

• Proven experience working as a Chef.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
• Warm, considerate and empathetic approach.
• Ability to make decisions and use initiative.
• Strong communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude.
• Experience or understanding of the IDDSI framework (desirable).
