Hospital Kitchen Assistant – Catering Team

About the role

Join Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke’s catering team as a Kitchen Assistant, helping to provide balanced, appetising meals for patients and staff. You will work in a supportive environment focused on improving lives across more than 150 sites in the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking nutritious meals for hospital patients.
• Wash, store and maintain utensils, dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and support stock ordering.
• Maintain strict hygiene standards and ensure the kitchen complies with COSHH regulations.
• Use and maintain kitchen equipment safely according to Cygnet procedures.

Required profile

• Passionate about catering, preferably with experience in a care or healthcare setting.
• Enthusiastic, eager to learn and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Polite, professional and consistently positive in attitude.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with staff at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, diligent and proud of maintaining high cleanliness standards.
