Hospitality Assessor – Front & Back of House (Trainee or Qualified)

About the role

We are seeking a Hospitality Assessor to deliver Front‑of‑House and Back‑of‑House apprenticeship standards across Leeds, Sheffield and surrounding areas. The role combines remote and face‑to‑face teaching, supporting learners to achieve the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and functional skills in Maths and English.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the full Hospitality Apprenticeship Standard (Front‑of‑House and Back‑of‑House) using a blended learning approach.
• Teach Level 2 Maths and English functional skills to apprentices.
• Plan and manage a diary of site visits, remote sessions and learner reviews.
• Maintain accurate documentation of learner progress and produce required assessment paperwork.
• Provide motivation, advice and barrier‑removal support to learners.
• Meet KPI targets for visit frequency, paperwork quality and overall administration.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a hotel, pub or restaurant environment, covering both Front‑of‑House and Back‑of‑House roles.
• Supervisory or managerial experience (e.g., Supervisor, Team Leader, Assistant Manager, Kitchen Manager, Head Chef).
• Level 2 Hospitality qualification.
• IT literacy and confidence to support functional‑skills teaching.
• Full driving licence, own vehicle and flexibility to travel across the region.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking, including boning, filleting, dough, stocks, sauces and pasta.
• Supervisory/leadership skills in hospitality settings.
• IT literacy (basic computer applications).
• Ability to deliver blended learning sessions.
