HR Adviser – Associate People Partner

About the role

Wiltshire Police is seeking an Associate People Partner to join its Talent and People Partner team. This HR adviser role will support a diverse workforce across the force, helping to shape HR delivery, manage employee relations, and build a future‑ready workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate effective HR processes and embed strategic HR management within business areas.
• Provide expert case‑management advice on discipline, grievance, absence management, capability and other employee‑relations issues.
• Offer resourcing support and coaching to line managers to enhance people‑management capabilities.
• Lead or contribute to project work, continuous improvement initiatives, and change programmes.

Required profile

• Experience in an HR adviser or Associate People Partner role (desirable).
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee‑relations case management.
• Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach with good judgement and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to handle sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism.
• Experience in a fast‑paced or complex environment (desirable).
