HR Adviser (Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join NHS Fife on a fixed‑term basis as we undergo a major transformation of our People & Culture Directorate. The successful candidate will provide clear, consistent advice on policies, employee relations and employment legislation, supporting managers and staff throughout this period of change.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice to managers and employees on terms and conditions, employee relations and statutory matters.
• Support investigations and ensure compliance with NHS Fife, Once for Scotland and relevant legislation.
• Assist the new HR Service Desk and enquiry portal, delivering timely information and guidance.
• Interpret and apply organisational policies consistently across a multi‑union public‑sector environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the People & Culture Directorate.

Required profile

• Proven experience at a comparable HR level, preferably within the NHS or another public‑sector, multi‑union organisation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent operational HR experience.
• Working towards or holding CIPD membership.
