HR Advisor – Recruitment & Employee Relations (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support a large local government organisation on a three‑month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role is hybrid, requiring you to work onsite two to three days per week while providing strategic HR support across recruitment, employee relations and organisational change.

Key responsibilities

• Assist managers with recruitment activities, including job description creation, advertising liaison and interview panel participation.
• Support the HR Manager and Business Partners on sickness absence, employee relations cases, investigations and medical report handling.
• Contribute to restructures, workforce planning, training needs analysis and development initiatives.
• Lead or support HR projects such as staff health and wellbeing programmes and job evaluation processes.
• Maintain accurate people data, produce reports and ensure HR policies remain compliant with legislation.
• Chair job evaluation panels and monitor external HR contracts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR advisory within a public sector or large‑scale organisation.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations and HR policy administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with managers and HR partners.
• Excellent communication and investigative skills.
