HR Business Partner – Remote with occasional travel

About the role

This role supports business leaders across the North West with proactive HR guidance while working primarily remotely. You will travel occasionally to project sites in Manchester and Doncaster.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR advice and support.
• Lead TUPE transfers, restructures and change programmes.
• Build and maintain relationships with trade unions and employee forums.
• Manage complex employee‑relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance issues.
• Support workforce and succession planning and talent development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, company policy and HR best practice.
• Contribute to HR policy development and people‑strategy implementation.
• Coach managers on all people‑related matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
• Hands‑on experience managing TUPE processes.
• Experience working in a unionised environment with confidence engaging trade unions.
• Strong employee‑relations expertise handling complex casework.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid understanding of UK employment law.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
