HR Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading Housing Solutions firm, is creating a new HR Manager position to shape HR practice across a growing group of companies. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will be the first dedicated HR professional, providing hands‑on support and acting as the central point of contact for all employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of property management and regulated supported accommodation environments.
• Provide HR insight and data to senior management and foster an inclusive workplace culture.
• Support the Group Managing Director with HR governance, policy compliance and employment law obligations.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, screening, interview coordination and safer recruitment checks (DBS, right‑to‑work, references).
• Lead onboarding for new starters, setting up systems (Breathe HR), equipment and induction.
• Offer timely HR advice on performance, conduct, absence, probation and wellbeing.
• Handle disciplinary, grievance and capability processes in line with the ACAS Code of Practice.
• Monitor probation reviews, HR metrics (turnover, absence, headcount) and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements for the regulated division.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR professional, preferably within property or regulated accommodation sectors.
• Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR governance and safer recruitment standards.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
