HSE Contractor – 14‑Week Site Role in Ashford, Kent

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Contractor to join a 14‑week store build project in Ashford, Kent. The steel frame is complete and the site is moving into the next construction phase, requiring a proactive safety professional who is visible on‑site and can drive a positive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HSE support on the construction site.
• Engage with contractors and operatives to promote safe behaviours.
• Conduct site inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and project‑specific safety plans.
• Report incidents and near‑misses and advise on corrective actions.

Required profile

• Strong background in construction, particularly building projects and groundworks.
• Experience working as an HSE professional on active construction sites.
• Proactive, confident communicator who enjoys being on‑site rather than paperwork‑heavy.
• Based in or near Ashford, Kent, for the contract duration.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK construction health and safety regulations.
• Risk assessment and hazard identification.
• Incident reporting and corrective action planning.

What we offer

• £340 per day rate.
