Human Resources Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR generalist to lead HR delivery across a multi‑site, operational workforce in the UK. Working closely with the HR Director, you will strengthen HR foundations, improve day‑to‑day people processes and act as a trusted partner for managers.

Key responsibilities

• Operational HR leadership – manage onboarding, employee lifecycle, policies and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Employee relations – handle grievances, disciplinaries, absence, performance and conflict cases, providing clear legal advice to managers.
• Performance & capability – embed performance management frameworks, support objective setting, reviews and performance conversations.
• Learning & development – identify training needs, support leadership development and contribute to succession planning.
• HR strategy & planning – collaborate on workforce planning, organisational development and broader HR initiatives.
• Policies, process & compliance – maintain HR policies, ensure UK employment law compliance and keep records up to date.
• Reward & benefits support – contribute to salary benchmarking, reward decisions and consistent benefits application.

Required profile

• Proven HR generalist experience at manager level, preferably in a multi‑site, operational environment.
• Strong employee‑relations expertise with confidence handling complex, sensitive cases.
• CIPD qualification (Level 5 or 7) or equivalent experience.
• Ability to support managers of varying people‑management capability with patience and firmness.
• Comfort combining strategic input with hands‑on delivery.

• Hybrid working based in Glasgow with regular travel to Southern England.
