Human Resources & Recruitment Assistant

About the role

Join a dynamic HR team supporting around 70 employees across five sites in Manchester. Working closely with the Head of Human Resources, you will help deliver a high‑quality service to managers and staff while gaining exposure to a broad range of HR activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment campaigns: draft adverts, screen applications, arrange interviews, conduct pre‑employment checks, prepare contracts and onboard new hires.
• Manage new starter and leaver administration and maintain accurate employee records.
• Administer employee benefits, communications and prepare payroll change information for the external payroll provider.
• Coordinate mandatory training administration, including First Aid, Fire Warden and Manual Handling.
• Act as a First Aider and Fire Warden for the Manchester office and carry out regular fire safety checks.
• Monitor recruitment equality data, sickness absence and assist with disciplinary, capability and grievance processes.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and act as the first point of contact for HR queries.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting recruitment campaigns and general HR administration.
• Ability to manage onboarding, leaver processes and benefits administration.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain First Aid and Fire Warden certifications.

Required skills

• Salary range £27,000 – £30,000 per year, dependent on experience.
