IATF QMS Implementation Lead

About the role

This senior role will lead the design and roll‑out of an IATF 16949‑aligned Quality Management System for an automotive supplier. You will own the end‑to‑end implementation, ensuring cross‑functional ownership and delivering certification readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gap assessments and define future‑state architecture for IATF 16949 compliance.
• Redesign core automotive processes such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
• Establish a clear process‑ownership model across the business.
• Configure the Ideagen QMS platform to reflect IATF‑ready processes.
• Build and manage an internal audit schedule, coach auditors and close findings using PDCA.
• Oversee evidence generation and readiness reviews for Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading at least one full IATF 16949 implementation or major QMS upgrade.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and automotive tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive suppliers, including process redesign and ownership development.
• Ability to lead change across cross‑functional teams without direct line authority.
• Familiarity with IATF certification preparation, internal audit programmes and QMS platform configuration sequencing.
