ICT Project Officer – Finance & HR System Replacement

About the role

We are looking for an ICT Project Officer to support the delivery of a new Finance and HR system for the City Council. Working closely with the Programme Director and Project Manager, you will help ensure the project runs smoothly and meets stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Programme Director and Project Manager with day‑to‑day programme and project management.
• Provide project support while adhering to the Council’s project management methodology.
• Liaise with stakeholders, third‑party vendors and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Respond to correspondence, enquiries and complaints promptly.
• Administer the Project Change Register and manage the project budget using the Council finance system.
• Maintain and update risk and issue logs, schedules and distribute relevant information to owners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a project officer or similar role.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, tendering and procurement regulations at City Council, national and European level.
• Strong ability to manage cross‑functional stakeholders and adapt to changing service demands.
• Desirable experience in legal case management, legal services, or local government/public sector environments.

Required skills

• Competent user of Microsoft Office products.
