ICT Technician – School Support

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking an ICT Technician to provide technical support within schools in the Lancaster area. You will work directly with teachers, pupils and staff to ensure all IT systems operate smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot operating systems, networking equipment, hardware and software used in schools.
• Install new software and upgrade existing applications.
• Provide first‑line technical support to teachers and pupils.
• Develop and maintain the school’s website and intranet.
• Train teachers, students and other staff on IT tools and safe internet practices.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and child‑protection standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar ICT support role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
• Ability to work flexibly, both full‑time and part‑time, and travel locally.
• Strong initiative, hardworking attitude and the capacity to build good relationships with children and adults.
• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
