ICT Technician – School Support (Lancaster)

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking ICT Technicians to provide IT support to schools in the Lancaster area. The role involves maintaining the technology infrastructure that enables teachers and pupils to teach and learn effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade and maintain software applications used across the school.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to teachers, pupils and other staff.
• Maintain and develop the school’s website and intranet.
• Train staff and students on the use of hardware and software tools.
• Ensure internet systems are safe and comply with child‑protection policies.
• Support health and safety procedures related to IT equipment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar ICT support role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
• Hard‑working, flexible and able to work independently and take initiative.
• Ability to build good relationships with children and adults.
• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Availability for part‑time or full‑time work and ability to travel locally.
