Immediate Start Finance Officer – Temporary (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an immediate‑start Finance Officer on a temporary contract to support a busy public‑sector organisation in the education sector. The role is hybrid, with office attendance required two days each fortnight, and offers the chance to work with a collaborative team handling finance administration, budgeting and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process and maintain financial records and transactions.
• Prepare budget reports and financial information.
• Reconcile and process invoices.
• Monitor financial and performance data, investigating any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records in line with policies and procedures.
• Provide wider administrative and business support as needed.
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders in a professional manner.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize a busy workload and work independently.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
