Immigration Lawyer – Knowledge Development (Government Legal Department)

About the role

Join the Government Legal Department’s Litigation Directorate as a Knowledge Development Lawyer specialising in immigration litigation. You will support the Home Office Immigration Division by creating and maintaining legal knowledge resources, delivering training and facilitating best practice across a range of high‑profile immigration matters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update legal knowledge assets such as lead lawyer notes, checklists, precedents and standard documents.
• Organise and deliver both online and face‑to‑face legal training, including induction sessions for new lawyers.
• Collaborate with L&D specialists, panel law firms and internal stakeholders to design training that meets identified needs.
• Capture and retain insight when lawyers transition out of the team.
• Maintain a searchable knowledge repository for immigration case law.
• Promote available training and ensure lawyers can access appropriate development opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in immigration law and public law litigation.
• Strong understanding of judicial review processes and immigration policy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects.
