Immigration Paralegal (IAAS Level 1/2 Accredited)

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier law firm recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers, is seeking an Immigration Paralegal or Caseworker accredited at IAAS Level 1 or Level 2. This permanent position will support a high‑profile Immigration department that advises high‑net‑worth individuals, businesses and vulnerable clients on a wide range of UK immigration matters.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Department Director and manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters, both Legal Aid Agency funded and private.
• Attend clients, take instructions, prepare and file applications, including drafting forms, supporting documents and letters of representation for Home Office submissions.
• Prepare funding applications for the Legal Aid Agency and manage correspondence with clients, solicitors and external bodies.
• Draft witness statements, compile evidence, and assist with advocacy in conferences and court hearings.
• Maintain accurate time‑costing records and implement departmental recommendations.

Required profile

• Professional, proactive approach with strong client‑care skills.
• Sensitive and sympathetic understanding of client needs, especially in asylum, human‑rights and vulnerable‑person cases.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior immigration lawyers.

Required skills

• IAAS Level 1 or Level 2 accreditation.
• Solid knowledge of UK immigration law, Home Office procedures and Legal Aid regulations.
• Experience preparing immigration applications, funding requests and supporting documentation.
• Excellent written communication for drafting legal documents and client correspondence.
