Immunisation Nurse Coordinator (Schools)

About the role

An exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse to lead the School Immunisation Team, coordinating delivery of national public health immunisation programmes for school‑aged children across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate school immunisation programmes in line with national policy and local public health strategies.
• Lead and manage a team of registered nurses and healthcare support workers, delegating work and ensuring adherence to local and national policies.
• Collaborate with education authorities, local community, health improvement staff and other agencies to ensure safe programme delivery.
• Monitor clinical budget implications, flag risks and support recruitment in line with equal‑opportunity policies.

Required profile

• Current NMC UK registration (live pin) and degree‑level education.
• Post‑registration qualification or demonstrated advanced practice in immunisation.
• Experience working with Patient Group Directions and delivering immunisation sessions.
• Proven leadership/management experience and ability to work to challenging deadlines.

Required skills

• IT skills – word processing, email and internet use.
• Excellent oral, written and visual communication and presentation abilities.
