In House Legal Advisor – Transport & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking an In‑House Legal Advisor to join a commercially driven transport and logistics organisation operating across ferry services, cargo logistics, cruise operations, property and large‑scale development projects. This 6‑to‑9‑month fixed‑term role offers hands‑on commercial experience in a complex operational environment, reporting to the Head of Legal and working on‑site two days a week in Kent.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and operational contracts.
• Provide advice on procurement, liability and property matters across a diverse asset base.
• Support data protection and corporate governance issues.
• Manage low‑value claims, including property damage and minor personal injury.
• Assist with debt recovery and enforcement processes.
• Advise on risk mitigation, including indemnities and disclaimers.
• Support development and infrastructure projects and other ad‑hoc matters.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent Commonwealth qualification.
• At least 2 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Experience in commercial contracts with exposure to liability or property law.
• Practical, solutions‑oriented mindset with strong commercial awareness.
• Confident communicator able to build relationships across business units.
• Proactive, team‑oriented individual who enjoys variety and responsibility.
