Inclusive Sports Assistant

About the role

The Elfrida Society is looking for an enthusiastic Inclusive Sports Assistant to help deliver its award‑winning Inclusive Sports Programme. You will work alongside the Sports Project Manager, coaches and volunteers to create a welcoming environment for participants aged 16+ with learning disabilities and autism. This part‑time, contract role supports sport, health and community engagement across North London.

Key responsibilities

• Assist coaches in delivering safe, fun and inclusive sports sessions such as football, tennis, basketball, fitness and cricket.
• Support outreach and promotion activities to increase participation in schools, colleges and community organisations.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support, using a person‑centred approach.
• Set up equipment and ensure sessions run smoothly at various venues.
• Welcome participants, carers and families; maintain attendance registers and participant records.
• Handle referrals, update databases and perform general administrative tasks.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
• Collaborate closely with the Sports Project Manager and wider team.

• Passionate about inclusion and supporting disabled people.
• Interest in sport, health and community activities.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Organised and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to different venues across North London.
