Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

About the role
The Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) will work within the Ashraya Project, a specialist housing support service for male survivors of domestic abuse. Based in London with a hybrid model, the role combines direct client work, multi‑agency collaboration and safety planning to help men secure safe accommodation and rebuild their lives.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and respond to the safety and housing needs of male survivors, facilitating access to secure accommodation.
- Provide ongoing risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and emotional support.
- Work within the MARAC and local partnership framework to ensure coordinated protection for victims.
- Promote the service, raise awareness of male‑specific domestic abuse issues and reduce barriers to support.
Required profile
- Experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
- Understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and safeguarding legislation.
- Knowledge of housing law and ability to give up‑to‑date advice.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with agencies and clients.

What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2027.
- Hybrid working (London office and remote).
- Salary £30,552 – £32,383 per year (including London weighting allowance).
