Independent Living Support Worker – Peer-Led

About the role

Depaul is seeking a Peer‑Led Independent Living Support Worker to join its Housing First portfolio in Belfast. The role provides peer support to service users facing homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges, helping them develop life‑skills, sustain tenancy and integrate into the community.

Key responsibilities

• Support individuals and groups to build capacity, confidence and independent living skills.
• Deliver harm‑reduction advice, life‑skills development and tenancy sustainment support.
• Liaise with external agencies, arrange information sessions and facilitate referrals.
• Maintain accurate service‑user records, report incidents and manage financial documentation.
• Participate in assessments of new referrals, team meetings and mandatory training.
• Promote the LSPA programme and contribute to research and peer groups.

Required profile

• At least 1 year paid or 2 years voluntary experience in a relevant role.
• Personal insight into homelessness, addiction and mental health.
• Good literacy, basic IT skills and understanding of confidentiality.
• Ability to work alone safely, travel outside Belfast when needed and respect diversity.
