Indirect Category Manager

About the role

A world-class engineering organisation in Wantage, Oxfordshire, is looking for an Indirect Category Manager with indirect procurement experience. The role plays a key part in delivering commercial excellence by partnering with stakeholders across corporate business functions, developing sourcing strategies, negotiating high-value contracts and building strong supplier relationships. It is a visible, business-facing position with a salary of up to £70,000, three days per week in the office, and an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Lead indirect procurement activity across multiple spend categories within the indirect space.
• Develop sourcing strategies that reduce cost, improve supplier performance and manage risk.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to maximise value.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver commercially effective solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and supplier performance.
• Use data and insights to identify opportunities, measure savings and support informed decision-making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in indirect procurement.
• Experience managing suppliers and commercial contracts.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
