Indirect Tax Manager – UK & Europe VAT

About the role

Join a leading global engineering and professional services organisation as an Indirect Tax Manager responsible for UK VAT compliance and oversight of European VAT obligations. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross‑border teams to ensure accurate filings and provide commercial tax advice.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end UK VAT compliance, including timely returns and interactions with HMRC.
• Manage VAT obligations across multiple European jurisdictions (Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland).
• Provide technical advice on complex transactions, joint operations and cross‑border projects.
• Maintain relationships with tax authorities and coordinate external advisers.
• Support governance, SAO requirements and continuous improvement of VAT processes.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional (ACA, CTA or equivalent) with strong VAT expertise.
• Extensive experience in UK VAT compliance and advising on complex transactions.
• Exposure to European indirect tax regimes.
• Commercial mindset with ability to translate technical tax into practical business advice.
• Proven track record of process improvement and governance.
