Industrial Composite Engineer

About the role

Airbus is looking for an Industrial Composite Engineer to turn cutting‑edge research into the manufacturing reality of the next‑generation aircraft wing. Based in Filton, Bristol, you will lead the development of carbon‑fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials and processes, ensuring they are ready for high‑rate production.

Key responsibilities

• Bridge “blue‑sky” research and factory floor, maturing new composite technologies for serial production.
• Define and execute the industrial manufacturing strategy for next‑generation wing parts.
• Lead technical collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers, PhD researchers and academic institutions.
• Build physical prototypes to demonstrate process capabilities and validate production routes.
• Shape the long‑term roadmap for Airbus composite programmes.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in CFRP and composite material development for aerospace applications.
• Eligibility to obtain UK SC security clearance (or BPSS and Export Control checks).
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe and internationally.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a passion for sustainable aviation.
