Industrial Disease Solicitor – Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor

About the role

We are a leading Legal 100 law firm seeking a Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor to join our Plymouth office. You will manage a varied caseload of industrial disease claims, working within an established litigation team and handling matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial. The role involves regular client contact and exposure to complex cases, particularly claims against the MOD on behalf of ex‑military personnel with noise‑induced hearing loss or non‑freezing cold injuries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of claimant industrial disease files.
• Progress claims from the pre‑action stage through to resolution or trial.
• Liaise with counsel, medical experts and other professionals.
• Attend hearings where appropriate.
• Support settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Assist in supervising and developing trainees and paralegals.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) or Solicitor.
• Newly qualified or up to 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience running your own industrial disease caseload.
