Industrial Hygienist – Fawley Refinery

About the role

This position is for an Industrial Hygienist to support a COMAH Tier 1 refinery and petrochemical site in Fawley. You will join a specialist team delivering exposure assessments, risk control advice and training to protect the workforce’s health.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct exposure monitoring surveys and qualitative assessments for chemical and physical agents.
• Provide practical control recommendations and document findings in clear technical reports.
• Deliver Industrial Hygiene training covering hazardous substances, physical agents and control measures.
• Design and test confined‑space ventilation plans and support turnaround activities.
• Perform reactive and emergency response monitoring when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Industrial Hygienist, preferably in a high‑risk or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Completed BOHS modules M501, M503, M505 and M507.
• Strong understanding of workplace exposure risks and control strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Valid driving licence for site travel.
