Infrastructure / Support Engineer – 2nd/3rd Line (Oxford)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer to join a growing Managed Service Provider in Oxford. The role involves solving complex technical issues, acting as a senior escalation point, and supporting infrastructure projects across diverse client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for complex technical incidents.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across server, network, cloud and end‑user environments.
• Own high‑priority tickets through to resolution.
• Support infrastructure changes, upgrades and project delivery.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Provide onsite support and attend client sites as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience in IT support, infrastructure or MSP environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft and business systems.
• Experience with virtualised environments and networking concepts.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

• Microsoft 365, Azure and identity platforms.
• Windows Server and virtualisation.
• Networking, switching and firewall technologies (VLANs).
• Intune and endpoint management.
• SharePoint and email migration tools.
• Backup, DR and security tooling.
• PowerShell scripting/automation.
