Insolvency Solicitor (NQ+)

About the role

The Legists, a well‑established law firm in Dorset, is expanding its Insolvency & Corporate Recovery team. We are looking for an NQ+ solicitor to join us, whether you are newly qualified, about to qualify, or an experienced lawyer seeking to specialise in insolvency law. Full training and mentorship will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and progressively take ownership of a varied caseload of insolvency and corporate recovery matters.
• Advise insolvency practitioners on formal appointments and restructuring projects.
• Handle insolvency‑related litigation, dispute resolution and director issues.
• Support clients through complex insolvency processes and asset recovery.
• Contribute to business development and networking activities.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in insolvency and corporate recovery law.
• Strong communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proactive, commercial mindset and effective workload management.

Required skills

• Understanding of insolvency procedures and corporate recovery principles.
• Knowledge of company law, director responsibilities and commercial litigation concepts.
