Insurance Team Leader – Heritage

About the role

Are you an experienced insurance professional with a passion for leading people and delivering exceptional client service? We're looking for a Team Leader to join our specialist Heritage Team based in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance account handling experience who enjoys developing people, building strong client relationships, and driving team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team through regular one‑to‑one meetings and ongoing coaching.
• Manage the day‑to‑day performance and development of your team.
• Support the Team Director with operational and client management responsibilities.
• Act as the first point of contact for client, insurer, and provider queries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers.
• Manage and oversee a portfolio of business.
• Drive retention, cross‑selling, and referral opportunities.
• Resolve policy and documentation queries efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure all client records and data are maintained in line with company procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience within the insurance industry, either with a broker or insurer.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing a team.
• Insurance account handling experience.
• Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive and self‑motivated approach.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
