Intercity Bus & Coach Driver – Kirkcaldy

About the role

Ember, the UK’s first fully‑electric coach company, is expanding to Kirkcaldy and is looking for professional drivers to join its pioneering team. You will be based at the new hub in Livingston while training, then transfer to the Kirkcaldy hub when it opens.

Key responsibilities

• Operate electric coaches safely, ensuring smooth journeys and on‑time service.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for passengers, assisting with luggage, answering queries and providing a friendly welcome.
• Maintain the interior of the coach, performing light cleaning duties throughout the day.
• Use Ember’s new technology platforms to enhance the passenger experience and report any issues.
• Contribute ideas for service improvement in a constructive manner.

Required profile

• Full PCV licence – Category D minimum.
• Valid CPC and a digital tachograph card (or ability to obtain them quickly).
• Demonstrated high‑quality driving with smooth braking and a strong safety focus.
• Flexibility to work early, late or night shifts on any day of the week.

What we offer

• Starting rate of £16.50 per hour, rising to £17.30 after one year and up to £19.80 for overtime.
• Relief contracts available at £18.49 per hour (base plus holiday pay).
