Interim Finance Business Partner – Pensions

About the role

The local authority in Surrey is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to support its pension fund operations. You will work across pension accounting, investments, cash‑flow management and financial reporting, providing specialist advice to senior stakeholders and ensuring robust financial governance throughout the contract period.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day financial support for pension fund accounting, including reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with actuaries, fund managers and internal finance teams on budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow analysis.
• Prepare and present financial information for committee meetings and audit processes.
• Monitor fund performance against targets and advise on investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with LGPS regulations and internal control standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in local government pension finance, preferably within the LGPS framework.
• Strong understanding of pension fund accounting, investment reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Experience working on contract or interim assignments within a public sector environment.
