Interim Financial Accountant (13‑month contract)

About the role

HW Finance is seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to cover a 13‑month maternity leave. The role is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the Leeds office for board meetings and training. The successful candidate will join a high‑performing finance team and support a range of technical accounting functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate internal audit requests.
• Manage the external audit process and act as the main point of contact for auditors.
• Support the business on contractual and governance matters from a statutory accounting perspective.
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Prepare annual statutory accounts and meet associated compliance obligations.
• Manage relationships with insurance providers and oversee insurance‑related activities.
• Participate in central finance meetings and contribute to ad‑hoc finance projects.
• Provide management cover and support across finance teams as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience with statutory reporting, external audit management and IFRS reporting.
• Proficiency in fixed asset accounting, tax compliance and insurance‑related accounting.
• Available to start between mid‑August and early September 2026.
