Interim Financial Controller – 3‑6 months

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well‑established business in Lancaster for a 3‑6 month period, with the possibility of extension. The role is hands‑on and requires immediate impact on the finance function during a key phase of change.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations and lead the finance team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders as required.
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
