Interim Financial Controller – Immediate Start

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing organisation on an immediate basis. This hands‑on leadership position will support senior leadership by ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining compliance, and providing commercial insight during a period of growth and change.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting across the business, delivering insight into performance, cash flow and balance‑sheet movements.
• Own cash‑flow forecasting, providing analysis and challenge to inform strategic decisions.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring timely and accurate management and financial reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts for multiple entities and coordinate the external audit process.
• Ensure VAT compliance and support broader tax matters with external advisors.
• Act as primary finance contact for banks and lenders, handling covenant reporting, financial modelling and lender requests.
• Strengthen financial controls, accounting policies and balance‑sheet governance.
• Provide technical accounting support on complex transactions and projects.
• Lead, develop and mentor a small finance team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting and controls.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Strong statutory accounting and external audit experience.
• Experience in multi‑entity or complex group environments.
• Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, auditors and lenders.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with ability to deliver in a fast‑paced setting.
• Immediate availability or ability to start at short notice.
