Interim Head of Finance – FinTech Scale‑Up (London)

About the role

Join a high‑growth, well‑backed FinTech at a pivotal stage of its journey. Reporting to the CFO, the Interim Head of Finance will take charge of the day‑to‑day finance function during a busy period of expansion and transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, stabilise and reshape the finance team to support rapid growth.
• Own month‑end close, statutory and technical accounting, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
• Drive process improvements, reducing manual spreadsheet reliance.
• Enhance finance system utilisation by building robust workflows.
• Manage a distributed team across multiple locations, maintaining alignment and support.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership throughout the transformation.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting foundation from audit experience.
• FinTech background, preferably in payments or consumer‑focused scale‑ups.
• Proven experience leading finance transformation and restructuring teams.
• Hands‑on operator comfortable with detailed work and remote team management.

Required skills

• Technical accounting and audit expertise.
• Experience with finance system optimisation.
• Ability to implement process automation and reduce spreadsheet dependence.
