Interim Information Governance & Data Protection Manager (Healthcare)

About the role

This interim position supports a private healthcare provider in Kent by ensuring that all information is managed securely and complies with current data protection legislation. You will act as the primary advisor on governance matters and help the organisation maintain a robust compliance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement information governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant legal requirements.
• Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on governance issues.
• Clear a backlog of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and conduct Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
• Manage the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) as a priority.
• Conduct audits to assess adherence to governance frameworks.
• Oversee data‑breach management and incident reporting.
• Deliver training and guidance on best practices.
• Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor legislative changes and adjust policies accordingly.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in information governance or data protection, particularly within healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and related regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to conduct DPIAs, LIAs and provide governance advice.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and regulators.

Required skills

• Daily rate between £450 and £550, dependent on experience.
