Interim Operations Director – Multi‑Site Automotive Manufacturing

About the role

This interim position leads multiple UK manufacturing sites for a Tier 1 automotive group. The role is strategic, overseeing end‑to‑end operations, driving performance improvement, integration and growth across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational performance across several UK facilities with full P&L ownership.
• Drive productivity, cost control, quality, safety and on‑time delivery.
• Oversee S&OP/IBP, capacity planning and inventory optimisation.
• Standardise processes, strengthen compliance and embed continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Lead new‑product‑introduction (NPI) readiness and supply‑chain performance.
• Integrate newly acquired sites and align cultures.
• Partner with commercial and engineering teams to support major OEM programmes.
• Champion transformation, digitalisation and operational optimisation across the network.

Required profile

• Senior operations leader with experience in Tier 1 automotive or high‑volume manufacturing.
• Proven track record managing multi‑site or multi‑country operations.
• Demonstrated success in transformation, performance turnaround and culture building.
• Strategic, hands‑on leader with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
