Interim People Partner (12-month fixed term)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Interim People Partner to deliver a professional, operational HR service for a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. The role focuses on employee relations, manager coaching, policy development and employee engagement, supporting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters, ensuring fair and lawful handling.
• Coach and support managers throughout the employee relations process, building confidence and capability.
• Conduct investigations, prepare reports and recommendations, and identify trends to propose proactive solutions.
• Design and deliver training on employee relations best practice and management skills.
• Review, develop and implement HR policies, keeping them compliant with current UK employment legislation.
• Provide guidance on legislative changes and HR best practice to managers.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives and contribute to culture‑building projects.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing employee relations cases.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to coach and influence managers at all levels.
• Excellent communication, investigation and stakeholder management skills.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proactive, collaborative and solutions‑focused approach.
