International Group Financial Controller

About the role

Lyra Health, a leading provider of mental‑health solutions, is looking for a senior director of accounting to lead international reporting. Reporting to the corporate controller, the role will be remote‑based in the United Kingdom and will oversee accounting results across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly entity‑by‑entity financial statements and work closely with FP&A to explain trends.
• Ensure on‑time statutory compliance, including annual statutory audits.
• Manage the accounting team primarily located in South Africa and coordinate with external accountants.
• Review and improve close and transaction processes, upgrading internal controls.
• Leverage technology and AI to streamline the month‑end close, targeting a one‑week close cycle.
• Collaborate with the U.S. parent company’s accounting team to align goals and priorities.
• Oversee timely VAT, GST, and payroll tax filings and partner with the tax team on income‑tax returns.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification (preferred) with a BA/BS in Accounting.
• Strong foundation in accounting and experience managing teams in a multinational environment.
• Comfort with international accounting issues, acquisitions, and cross‑functional problem solving.
• Flexibility to work across time zones and occasional travel.
