International Indirect Tax Lead, Financial Services

About the role

This senior position leads the international indirect tax function for a fast‑growing financial services firm. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will own all non‑US indirect tax matters and support UK return preparation while driving advisory and project work across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the VAT subject‑matter expert, advising on complex cross‑border transactions, new products, recoverability and structuring.
• Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure robust contractual arrangements.
• Oversee VAT compliance for the UK and multiple international jurisdictions, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead indirect tax workstreams in ERP and tax‑engine implementations, including design, configuration and testing.
• Support M&A activities – due diligence, deal structuring and post‑acquisition integration.

Required profile

• Self‑sufficient professional able to work autonomously.
• Experience in financial services or insurance, with a blend of hands‑on execution and advisory capability.
• Proven ability to collaborate with international business units and deal teams.
