International Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an International Tax Assistant Manager to join a reputable company in Manchester. This permanent role will support the tax team in delivering compliance, advisory and strategic tax services across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Deliver advisory projects such as corporate tax compliance, reorganisations, acquisition and sale structuring, tax due diligence and demergers.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support special projects.
• Manage tax compliance, reporting and advisory activities, ensuring alignment with domestic and international tax laws.
• Offer strategic tax planning, work closely with the finance team to optimise tax efficiencies and monitor legislative changes.

Required profile

• Solid experience in international tax compliance and advisory services.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA/ACA or ATT/CTA preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software.
• Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
