Investigative Consultant (PIP2) – Full/Part Time – Gloucester

About the role

We are seeking experienced PIP2 Investigative Consultants to support policing operations in Gloucester. The role can be undertaken on a full‑time, part‑time or compressed‑hours basis and offers hybrid working where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Secure, preserve and gather evidence for investigations.
• Build and maintain comprehensive case files.
• Obtain and review CCTV footage.
• Interview witnesses and vulnerable adults, taking accurate statements.
• Analyse phone and device data downloads.
• Follow up external enquiries and maintain internal IT records.
• Track case progression timelines and reduce evidential errors.
• Apply safeguarding best practices throughout investigations.

Required profile

• Essential: Experience as a PIP2 officer, detective or equivalent investigative role.
• Desirable: Proven experience interviewing vulnerable adults (ABE).

Required skills

• CCTV review and analysis.
• Phone/device data analysis.
• Use of internal IT systems for research and record‑keeping.
