Investment Banking Analyst – Mining & Metals

About the role

NBCCM, the European hub of National Bank of Canada, is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join its Mining & Metals team in London. The analyst will support deal execution and origination across the mining and natural resources sectors, gaining exposure to complex advisory and financing mandates.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse corporate clients’ financial needs, building detailed financial models and performing valuation analyses.
• Prepare high‑quality pitch books and presentation materials to support strategic and capital‑markets decisions.
• Assist deal teams with transaction structuring, execution of advisory and financing mandates, and project coordination.
• Conduct company, industry and commodity market research with a focus on mining.
• Help draft prospectuses, offering memoranda and other transaction‑related documentation.
• Support senior bankers in client coverage, deal execution and relationship management.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or engineering.
• 1‑3 years of full‑time investment banking experience, preferably in mining or natural resources.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• High professional standards, integrity and teamwork orientation.
