ISO Internal Auditor

About the role

Join the NHS SBS Risk, Assurance and Quality Team as an ISO Internal Auditor. You will help maintain the organisation’s ISO9001 Quality Management System and ISO27001 Information Security Management System, ensuring compliance with international standards and supporting high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and maintain internal audit programmes for certified ISO standards.
• Plan audits to achieve full coverage of clauses and scope areas within each three‑year certification cycle.
• Conduct internal audits at scheduled intervals, assessing conformance and effective implementation.
• Monitor audit actions through to completion and integrate emerging risks into the audit programme.
• Communicate the three‑year audit programme and keep stakeholders informed throughout the process.
• Provide support for queries arising from internal, external or surveillance audit activities.

Required profile

• ISO auditor training covering ISO9001 or ISO27001 (training can be provided if you hold one qualification).
• Ability to follow ISO19011 auditing guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and data‑interpretation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and confidence to use initiative and sound judgement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
