IT Commercial Director

About the role

We are seeking an IT Commercial Director to lead our IT supplier relationships and drive commercial performance. The role sits within the IT leadership team and works closely with senior stakeholders to ensure contracts deliver value and support our digital ambitions. Flexible remote working is available, with occasional travel to our Rushden and London offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the IT commercial and sourcing strategy, aligning it with organisational values and goals.
• Manage and negotiate with key suppliers to secure best value while mitigating inflationary pressures.
• Oversee contract compliance and performance across all enterprise IT contracts.
• Provide expert commercial input into IT‑related business projects involving new or amended contractual arrangements.
• Build collaborative supplier partnerships that deliver mutual value and continuous service improvement.
• Ensure supplier contracts align with digital transformation objectives and monitor market trends.
• Drive continuous improvement of supplier performance metrics and integrate commercial considerations into technology roadmaps.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in IT supplier and commercial management within a complex, multi‑vendor environment.
• Strong experience developing and operating commercial, governance, and performance frameworks.
• Track record of delivering cost savings while balancing value, quality, and service.
• Experience working with outsourced IT solution providers and driving excellence.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes at executive and supplier board level.
• Solid financial and budgetary expertise, including forecasting, spend control, and contribution to business cases.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
