IT Infrastructure Support Engineer – Oxford

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our growing IT team in Oxford. The role combines hands‑on IT support with infrastructure administration in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment, ensuring systems, networks and end‑user services remain secure, reliable and highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line IT support to users across the business.
• Manage, prioritize and resolve IT support tickets, escalating when necessary.
• Configure and deploy laptops, desktops and mobile devices for new starters.
• Handle onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including user accounts and permissions.
• Maintain and support core IT infrastructure such as servers, networking equipment and office technology.
• Administer user accounts in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory and Google Workspace.
• Monitor and troubleshoot networking issues including VPN connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLANs.
• Maintain IT asset registers, hardware inventory and related documentation.
• Support backups, security updates and routine system maintenance.
• Contribute to improving IT processes, documentation and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Hands‑on IT professional with strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to work closely with end users.
• Willingness to develop infrastructure knowledge and participate in technical improvement projects.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 administration
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory
• Google Workspace account management
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and VLANs
• Windows desktop environment support
• Server and networking equipment maintenance
• Backup and security update procedures
