IT Support Technician

About the role

A legal firm in Liverpool is looking for a hands‑on IT Support Technician to join its growing team. The role is ideal for an ambitious professional with at least two years of 1st/2nd line support experience who wants to broaden technical expertise in a fast‑paced business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of escalation on the service desk, logging and resolving tickets.
• Manage, update and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 desktops and Microsoft 365 mailboxes and groups.
• Administer Active Directory – create and modify groups, manage permissions and perform basic Windows Server tasks.
• Monitor basic networking, routing issues and internal backup solutions to ensure continuity.
• Support specialised systems such as printing services, remote‑control tools and legal tech like Proclaim.
• Receive cross‑training into Citrix and other enterprise technologies.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on 1st/2nd line technical support in a commercial setting.
• Active ITIL certification and solid understanding of structured support processes.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong appetite to learn new technologies.

Required skills

• Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Active Directory user and group management.
• Basic Windows Server administration.
• ITIL framework knowledge.
• Fundamental networking concepts.
• Remote support tools such as TeamViewer or other RMM platforms.
• Exposure to Citrix or Azure Virtual Desktop (training provided).
• Familiarity with legal tech systems like Proclaim.
